Abbeyfield's 70th anniversary: a year of celebration

At The Old Vicarage in Crosby, residents enjoyed a stand-up comedy performance from Edinburgh Fringe veteran Tom McSharry, rounded off with homemade sandwiches and cakes.

In Horsted Keynes, Westall House hosted a garden tea party with Pimm's, garden games, and a live musical theatre performance from the BHOS choir.

Over at Nine Oaks in Windermere, everyone sang along with South Lakes Acapella and their local MP, with residents performing so well they received an invitation to join the choir's next rehearsal.

Tamar House opened their garden fête with the Mayor, featuring expert 1950s dance instruction from Frankie’s Dance ‘n’ Dine alongside traditional stalls.

Holloway House in Quorn welcomed over 30 community guests to explore life at the house while enjoying homecooked food and freshly baked treats.

At Speedwell Court in Southampton, they .celebrated with garden bingo, flower pressing, and live music, while the local MP presented thank-you gifts to the home's volunteers.

Hale Court enjoyed a buffet and mocktails accompanied by a live harp performance from long-standing volunteer Iona.

At Abbeyfield House Bramhall they embraced a Country & Western themed party with line dancing, traditional games, cowboy hats and celebratory cake.

Over at Phil Mead House in Coventry, they gathered for a garden tea party where residents shared life wisdom and childhood memories of growing up in Coventry during the Second World War.

Clifton House hosted a 1950s reminiscence session with vintage games and clothing, alongside a 70-hula-hoop challenge with the local MP.
